These terms apply to stepstomiles.app. You are welcome to use the calculator, save local profiles, and copy, download or print your results for lawful everyday, educational or work use. You are responsible for choosing suitable inputs and deciding how to use the output.
A calculated distance is still an estimate
The arithmetic uses the step length or calibration you supply. It cannot confirm your step count, measure a route or know when pace, terrain or gait changes. The starting example is not a measurement of you. Results can differ from a watch, phone or GPS estimate.
This site is a conversion and planning aid, not a medical service, activity monitor or prescription for exercise. It does not assess your health or recommend an appropriate activity level. Check figures independently when they matter, and seek qualified guidance for personal health or fitness decisions.
What the service can promise
I work to make the calculator accurate and understandable, but cannot guarantee that every input, explanation or result is free of error. Access and features may change or be interrupted. Keep a separate copy of anything you need: saved browser profiles are not a backup service.
To the extent permitted by law, this tool is offered “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of continuous access, complete accuracy or fitness for a particular purpose. To that same extent, I am not responsible for losses caused by reliance on its estimates or by its unavailability. These limits do not exclude liability that the law does not allow to be excluded, or override mandatory consumer or other statutory rights.
Use it considerately
Do not abuse the site, disrupt access for others, introduce harmful software or attempt unauthorized access. Use the pages and exports lawfully. Links to measurement references are offered for context; the linked organizations control their own material.
Your information and future updates
The privacy policy covers optional profiles and email correspondence. If I update these terms, I’ll change the date on this page. A revision applies to future use from that date, rather than retroactively removing existing rights.
